APSARA 3 girl, pole dancing group. We formed the group late in 2008 because, although each a pole dancer in our own right, we believe that it can often be tarred with a brush of being sexy and sleazy. For those who have never tried it, it is very physically demanding and takes a lot of practice and leaves you with bruised limbs for weeks. It can however be an excellent way to keep fit and tone. It is developing into much more of a sport and we want to encourage people from all backgrounds - and of all shapes and sizes to have a go. One day it could become an Olympic sport - it doesn't need to be dirty!
We were lucky enough to be invited back to take part in the second round of Britain's Got Talent on ITV1 & 2 in front of a live theatre audience, Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Piers Morgan and guest judge, Kelly Brook as well as the legendary Ant & Dec and ITV2's Steven Mulhern.
Sadly, we didn't make it through to the live finals and the media were shocked to learn that one of the reasons we were kicked off was that they wanted us to perform in sexy underwear, especially when they suggested we come back next year and strip! That kind of thing is fine in a lapdancing club (where we all work), but we thought it totally inappropriate for a family show - especially one that gets the TV network record viewing figures.




We cant believe we did pole dancing on the radio too!

		Apsaras are supernatural beings: they appear as young women of great beauty and elegance who are proficcient in the art of dancing. They dance to the music made by their husbands, usually in the palaces of the gods, and entertain gods and fallen heroes. Apsaras are said to be able to change their shape at will. Apsaras are associated with water; thus, they may be compared to the Nymphs of Ancient Greece. They are also associated with fertility rites. In Hinduism, the lower Apsaras are sometimes regarded as nature spirits who may lure men to their deaths!
